The Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law Bayero University, Kano is one of the oldest departments in the Faculty. It was established in 1988. At present, the department has 11 academic staff that specialized in various branches of public law.

The department of ILJ is the most recently established department in the Faculty of Law. It is carefully composed of most of the dedicated, committed and highly intelligent staff of the faculty, who shares a common vision of producing excellent academic research and a strong passion for international law and jurisprudence. The department is technology savvy and is determined to make a difference by integrating modern research and teaching especially for its PG programmes.
